Donations and Fundraising   

We received a number of kind donations last month totalling £1,970.

How FACE is Providing Help

We have agreed to provide funds to create & furnish a new aromatherapy room in the MacMillan Centre. This will provide a quiet & relaxed place for the patients to benefit from the sessions that FACE currently fund. The cost of this initiative is estimated to be £10,000.

Work on the renovation of the Bereavement Suite at the WGH (formerly known as the Chapel of Rest) is now well underway. This is the biggest initiative FACE have been involved with and the estimated cost is £40,000.

We have provided funds to provide new curtains, duvet covers, a sofa and chairs for the Pentland Lodge (formerly Ward 5). Estimated cost £3,000.

We agreed to provide a new CD player for one of the radiotherapy treatment rooms – to relax patients as they go through treatment.

We are providing new play materials for Ward 2 in the Sick Kids. Estimated cost £500.

The new ice machine for Ward 3 is on order. This will cost approximately £3,000.

The new ‘fact file' for the Treatment Floor has arrived.

We have been approached to look at providing funds for the renovation of the clinical room in the Andrology Unit (RI). We await details of their plans .

The Jam House

Craig has been working closely with his contacts in Radio Forth on an exciting joint fundraising event. The Jam House is booked on 1 June – and the entertainment includes live bands & a comedian. Tickets are available through Craig & FACE.

Morag who is now the proud grandmother of twin boys. and Craig who has got engaged.

Edinburgh Marathon

John updated the meeting on a fine group of students running the marathon – raising funds for FACE through sponsorship.

AGM – Trustees

The AGM will take place at the end of May. At the meeting we elect Trustees. Here is the current list of the FACE Trustees:

Irene Bannon, Sadie Henderson, Amanda Moffat, Morag Kilgour, Lesley Coyle, Susan Thomson, Craig Purves

The constitution sets out that Trustees have to stand down after serving for a continuous period of 6 years.

At the last AGM – John Macaulay and Fiona Taylor had to stand down. After a year break they are now eligible to be re-elected as Trustees.

At this year's AGM – Amanda Moffat will be standing down after 6 years service.
